Our office for Gujarat Ambuja Cements Limited is tucked away in Pratap Nagar, Sanganer. Jaipur is a big place, but this area has its own specific feel, especially with the airport not too far off. We’re located at 52/155, which is a busy little spot. The roads around here are often full of trucks and bikes, and the noise of the traffic is something you just get used to after a week. We handle the local distribution and admin work from this building. It’s a lot of manual logging and checking inventories. Rajasthan summers are tough, so we spend a lot of time making sure the coolers are working so we can actually get through the workday. We aren’t some big flashy operation; we’re just a group of people making sure the cement gets to the right construction sites on time. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit messy and we have to spend the afternoon organizing the cabinets. We’ve got a small tea stall nearby where we go for breaks, which is usually when we hear all the local news. The office itself is functional and basic. We have what we need to do the job and that’s about it. Most of our day is spent talking to contractors or updating the ledgers. It’s honest work and we stay busy from morning till we lock up. It’s just our daily life in Jaipur.
