Our spot is out in Village Mohan Pura, near the Kotputli Bazar. Grasim Cement Ltd. has been part of this landscape for quite some time now. You can't miss us if you’re heading through the Thasil Kotputli area. It’s a dusty place, as you’d expect with cement, but we’ve gotten used to it. The workers here come from around the village and nearby spots. We start early when the air is still a bit cool. There’s always the sound of machinery in the background. It becomes like white noise after a while. We aren't tucked away in some city office; we are right where the action is. The roads around here can be a bit rough, especially after the rain. We spend a lot of time making sure the loads are ready to go out. It’s physical work and your clothes usually end up grey by the end of the shift. We have a small area for breaks where we sit and talk about local things. It’s a simple life out here. We don't bother with fancy presentations. We just focus on the heavy lifting and getting the trucks filled. The village is quiet at night, but during the day, this place is humming. We’ve seen the seasons change from this vantage point many times. It's an honest day's work for everyone involved. We just keep at it, day in and day out, making sure the loads are moved.
