We are based at 422 B in Adarsh Nagar, right in Gali Nagar. It’s a narrow street, and sometimes the neighbors’ kids are playing cricket right outside our front door. We do a lot of printing and book stuff here. The smell of ink and paper is everywhere, which you get used to after working here for a while. Our machines are older models, but they still work fine if you treat them right and oil them occasionally. We spend our days looking at proofs and checking for mistakes before things go to the print run. It’s a lot of sitting and reading, then a lot of heavy lifting when the finished boxes are ready. We don’t have a big fancy lobby for guests. You just walk in and you’re pretty much in the middle of the workspace with everyone else. There are stacks of paper everywhere you look. We publish all sorts of things, mostly for local schools or small writers who need a few copies of their work. It’s a family-run kind of thing, and we’ve been in this gali for decades. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit and wait, but that gives us a chance to have some tea and talk. We don’t make a big fuss about what we do. It’s just about putting words on paper and making sure it looks okay.
