Faculty Cum System Administrator

I work out in the Jaipur district of Rajasthan, specifically in the 303119 area. My role here is a bit of a mix. I handle the teaching side as a faculty member, but I also look after the computers and the network as the system administrator. It is a lot for one person sometimes, but it keeps the days interesting. The office is out in a part of Jaipur that isn't as crowded as the main city center. I spend a lot of my time fixing things that break or explaining how to use new software to the people here. The desks are often messy with cables and parts from old computers. It is not a very formal place. We wear casual clothes most days because there is always some physical work to do, like moving servers or setting up desks. The weather gets really hot here, especially in the summer, so the fans are always running. I have a small corner where I keep my tools and manuals. People come to me when their internet stops working or when they can't log into their accounts. I just do what I can to help them out. It is a practical job. I don't have a big team or a fancy title that matters much. I just make sure the systems stay up and the learning continues for everyone involved. It is a decent way to earn a living in Rajasthan. I've been here for several years.
