Dausa Kirana Store

Down here at S-23 Barkat Nagar, near Tonk Phatak, we run Dausa Kirana Store. It’s the kind of place where you know most of the faces that walk through the door. We spend a lot of time just unpacking crates and putting things on shelves. It’s a small space, so things can get a bit cluttered if we aren’t careful. The area around Tonk Phatak is always humming with people going to work or heading home, so we see a lot of foot traffic. We don't have any big slogans or complicated ways of doing things. If someone needs a bag of sugar or some lentils, they just come in and ask. Sometimes the lights flicker when the power is acting up, but we just keep going. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you might see one of us sitting behind the counter reading a paper when it's quiet. Barkat Nagar is a good neighborhood to be in, even if parking is a total mess out front. We keep the staples in stock and try to remember what our regulars like. It isn't a supermarket, just a local kirana shop where we know which bag of rice is where. Most days it’s just about making sure the inventory is right and checking the bags for leaks. We’ve been at this for a while and don’t plan on changing much. That’s about all there is to it.
