The workshop is usually full of old motors, grease, and rolls of copper wire. It’s a messy job, but someone has to do it correctly. We get our hands dirty every single day we are open. The smell of oil and burnt insulation is just part of the air in this shop. We have a few heavy wooden benches where we take things apart and try to put them back together. It takes a lot of patience and a steady hand to get the wiring right. My father started this business and I just kind of took over when I was old enough. We don't have any of those fancy automated machines you see on TV. It’s all done by hand, turn by turn, slowly. Sometimes we have to wait a few days for parts to come in from Phulera or even further away. The shop is a bit dark inside because we need to stay out of the direct sun during the heat. We have a big metal fan that keeps us from melting in the peak of summer. It’s noisy when we are testing the motors, but the neighbors don't seem to mind much. We’ve been here long enough that it’s normal.
