Chechi Cement Agency

We've been running the Chechi Cement Agency for a good while now out here in Shyampura village. It is a bit of a drive from the main Jaipur GPO area, but we are right here in Teh Kotputli where people need building supplies. Most days it is just us moving bags and making sure the orders are ready for whoever is building a house or fixing a wall. The yard gets pretty dusty, especially when the wind picks up across the open ground. It isn't a fancy office or anything like that. We just have the storage shed and a small space to sit down. People come by on their tractors or small trucks to pick up what they need. Sometimes the delivery trucks take a while to get here because of the roads, but we manage. Most of the folks around here know where we are. It’s quiet mostly, except for when the heavy lifting starts. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure the stacks stay organized. Cement is heavy work and it gets on your clothes by the end of the day. We usually open early before it gets too hot. Dealing with the suppliers takes up some time, but we keep the stock moving through the seasons. If you are coming from the main road, you just have to look for the stacks. It’s a straightforward business and we keep it that way for everyone who visits.
