Christmas Gift Box

Our little shop is over in Chandpol Bazar at No. 2244 Bhindo Ka Rasta. If you hear the Jaimaine Band practicing their horns nearby, you’re in the right place. It’s a very busy part of the market and things get narrow. We have piles of cardboard and colorful paper everywhere. Sometimes you can barely walk through the aisles because we have so many boxes stacked up to the ceiling. We make all sorts of containers. People come to us when they have something special to pack up, maybe for a wedding or a festival gift. It isn’t just about Christmas, despite what the name might suggest. We work hard all year round. The smell of glue is pretty strong some days. We use these old manual cutting machines that make a rhythmic clicking sound. It’s a family thing, really. My wife helps with the smaller details and I handle the heavy stacks. We don’t have a sign that lights up or anything fancy. Just the address painted on the door. The sunlight hits the front of the shop in the afternoon and makes it really bright inside for a few hours. We usually have a radio playing some old songs in the background. It keeps us moving through the pile of orders. It’s a small life but we enjoy being part of the hustle of the bazaar. Every box we make goes somewhere different.
