Champanjali Foundation

The Champanjali Foundation is based at 26, Rajgrahi Colony. It is a fairly quiet spot, and most people who live around here have been in the colony for years. Our office is basically just a few rooms that we have converted into a workspace. It’s got a lived-in feel to it, with some mismatched chairs and a big table where we do most of our planning. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that; usually, whoever is closest to the door just gets up to see who it is. The windows look out onto the street, so we see the kids playing after school and the vegetable vendors passing by with their carts. It feels like being part of the community rather than just a business sitting there. We handle a lot of local stuff, so being in a residential colony works out well for us. There is always a bit of clutter, like stacks of ledgers or some old newspapers, but we know where everything is. The electricity goes out every now and then, but we just wait it out and chat until it comes back on. It is a simple way of working, and we like that it stays low-key. We are just regular people trying to keep this foundation running properly without making a big fuss about it.
