Bhrrgrvi Granite

Our place is at 82 Mansarovar, right in the Sbbj Officers Colony. It is a quiet enough area compared to the main markets, but inside our gates, it is quite different. There is always the sound of stone being moved or the wet noise of a saw cutting through a thick slab. Granite is heavy stuff, and my back feels it every single evening when I go home. We have different colors and patterns leaning against the walls, some from nearby and some from further away. The floor is usually covered in a fine layer of stone dust, no matter how many times someone tries to sweep it up. Customers come in and walk around, touching the cold surfaces of the stone. We don't have a big sales team or anything, just a couple of us who know which piece is which. Sometimes we sit on the plastic chairs outside when the sun isn't too hot and share a tiffin. It’s a messy business, dealing with mud and water and heavy lifting all day. We’ve seen the colony change a lot over the years, with new houses going up everywhere. People want nice floors, and we help them find the right slabs for that. It isn't a fancy showroom with bright lights. It’s just a yard full of rock and the tools we use to manage it. We just keep at it, day after day.
