Bharti Confectionery

Our shop is tucked away in Bani Park at G 46. It’s a nice area, a bit quieter than the main markets. We keep a lot of glass jars on the shelves filled with different kinds of sweets and biscuits. The kids from the neighborhood know exactly which ones they want as soon as they walk in. We have a small fridge for cold drinks, but it sometimes makes a rattling noise that we’ve just learned to ignore. The floor is checkered tile and it’s a bit chipped near the entrance. I usually sit behind the counter near the window so I can see who is coming up the street. It’s not a big operation, just a local spot where people can grab a quick snack or some supplies for their tea. We try to keep the jars full, but sometimes the delivery truck is late and the shelves look a bit empty for a day or two. My wife helps me organize the stock in the evenings after we close. We’ve got a small stool for people to sit on if they’re waiting, but most people just come in and out pretty fast. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but for now, the old yellow color stays. It’s a comfortable place for us and the people who live around here.
