Balaji Buillion Refinery

Out here in Jhotwara, at the Shilp Colony, we run the Balaji Buillion Refinery. It’s an industrial kind of area so there is always some dust and noise from the nearby shops. Inside the refinery, it gets quite warm because of the work we do with the metals. We are mostly focused on the refining process and making sure the bullion is handled right. It is not the kind of job where you wear a suit. Most of us are in practical clothes because things can get messy pretty fast. The colony itself has a lot of small businesses and we have been part of this community for some time. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too high and the heat becomes a real problem. The machines we use are loud and they run for most of the day. We have to be careful with everything we do since we are dealing with precious metals. There is a lot of weighing and checking going on at different tables. Sometimes it feels like we are just moving piles of metal from one side of the room to the other but there is a system to it. People from around Jaipur come to find us in this part of town. We keep things simple and just focus on the melting and purifying. It’s hard work and your hands are rarely clean at the end of the shift.
