Balaji Building Materials

Balaji Building Materials is right across the street from the Kardhani police choki on Kalwad Road. It is a very visible spot in Govindpura. We have heaps of sand and stones piled up outside, so you can’t really miss us. Working on Kalwad Road means dealing with a lot of noise and dust from the passing traffic. It is a busy part of town, and things are always moving. We spend most of our time out in the yard, checking the quality of what comes in and making sure the loaders are doing their job right. The police choki is a constant presence, which is fine by us. We’ve got a small shack that serves as our office, filled with stacks of bills and a few old pens. It is not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. Govindpura has changed a lot since we started, with more houses going up every month. That keeps us pretty busy. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person. We just talk to the contractors and the people building their own small homes. Some days the sun is really harsh, and we all huddle under the small tin roof for a bit of shade and some cold water. It is just a regular local business, nothing more and nothing less. We just keep at it every day.
