Avinash Marbles

We’ve been working out of the Vkia Extension for a good while now. It’s a busy spot in the Badarana Industrial Area, and there is always some noise from the trucks moving in and out of the gates. At Avinash Marbles, our day usually starts early, checking the stock we have sitting in the yard. Marble is heavy work, and there is no getting around the dust that gets on everything by noon. We spend a lot of time looking at different slabs, making sure they aren't cracked or too stained before they go out. It isn't a fancy office here. Most of the time we are out on the floor or near the cutting area where the water is running to keep the blades cool. People come by G-1/75 looking for something specific for their floors or counters, and we just show them what we’ve got stacked up. Some days the cranes are working non-stop to move the big blocks that arrive from the quarries. It takes a lot of muscle and patience to handle stone this size without making a mess of it. We keep things pretty simple around here. We just focus on the inventory we have and getting the pieces loaded onto the tempos without any trouble. It’s a lot of physical labor, and at the end of the shift, we’re mostly just tired and covered in white powder from the stone, but that is just how it goes in this trade.
