Ashoka Hair Draser

Our place, Ashoka Hair Draser, is in the Laxminarayan Puri area of Galta. Most people just call it Surajpole. It’s an older part of Jaipur, and things move a bit slower around here compared to the new parts of town. The shop is quite humble. We have been here for a long time, and the locals all know where we are. It’s not a fancy place by any means. We have some basic chairs and the tools we’ve used for years. The name on the board might have a typo, but everyone knows it's us. We get a lot of older men who have been coming to this same spot since they were young. It’s a bit of a routine for them. The street outside can get quite busy with cows, bikes, and people walking to the local temples. We usually have a radio playing or just the sound of people talking. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it doesn’t stop us from doing our work. It’s a small space, so it can get a bit cramped when three or four people are waiting. We just tell them to grab a stool and wait a bit. We don't have any big plans to expand or anything. We just like being here in Galta, serving the people we've known for decades. It's just a simple life here at the shop near Surajpole.
