Ashiyana Marbles

Our shop, Ashiyana Marbles, sits right by the Jain Dharam Shala on M.I. Road. It is a busy part of the city, so there is always someone passing by or stopping to ask directions. We have been here for quite some time, dealing with all kinds of stone and marble blocks. The place is often covered in a thin layer of white dust, which is just part of the job when you work with these materials. We keep the slabs stacked up where people can see them, though it takes a lot of heavy lifting to move anything around. M.I. Road is usually loud with horns and people shouting, but inside the shop, it feels a bit different. We have a few guys who handle the loading and unloading when the trucks arrive. It is hard work, especially when the sun is beating down on the pavement outside. We don’t really do much in the way of decoration for the shop itself because the stone takes up most of the space anyway. Sometimes people come in just to look, and other times it is contractors who know exactly what they want. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily tasks. It is a straightforward business. We show the stock, talk about the sizes, and try to keep things organized. Living and working in this part of town means you get used to the constant energy of the street. It is just how things are for us here in this little corner of the road.
