Alstom is located on the first floor of Sangam Tower, which is on Church Road. It’s a pretty central spot, room 106. Being in a tower means we have a lot of neighbors, and the elevators are always busy. Our office is a mix of engineering talk and administrative tasks. We have a lot of drawings and technical specs spread out on the tables. It’s not a flashy space with modern art on the walls; it’s mostly just shelves of manuals and some computer monitors. The view from the window is mostly of the street below and the other buildings on Church Road. It gets pretty noisy with the traffic, but you get used to it after the first week. We don't have a big fancy sign in the lobby. You just have to find our door on the first floor. Most of us here are focused on technical projects. We spend a lot of time in meetings or on the computer, trying to figure out how to get things built right. It’s a professional environment but it’s not stiff. We wear regular shirts and trousers, and we’re always drinking tea while we work. We don't have a lot of visitors, so the office stays mostly quiet except for the tapping of keyboards. It’s a solid place to work if you like engineering and being in the middle of the city.
