Ahmed Jamil

Ahmed Jamil is the name on the door here over at Ajmer Road. We have been sitting at this spot in Hathroi Bawari for a while now. It’s a busy area and the address is officially Hathroi 115 but most people just look for the landmarks around. Most days start pretty early because the traffic on Ajmer Road gets loud quite fast. The building isn't brand new or anything like that. It has its quirks. Sometimes the power acts up or the noise from the street makes it hard to hear, but we make it work. Ahmed Jamil has stayed put while other shops have come and gone around us. You get used to the way the sun hits the front windows in the afternoon. It gets hot, but we keep the fans going. People stop by and ask for directions a lot since we are right there in the mix. It isn't a fancy setup. We have some old desks and plenty of paperwork. Dealing with the daily stuff is what keeps things moving. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint if I am being honest. But the roof doesn't leak and we know all the tea sellers nearby. Staying here on Ajmer Road feels right because everything is within reach. We just do what needs to be done every day and try to keep things organized despite the chaos of the city outside.
