Down in Lumshnong, in the Jantia Hills of Meghalaya, is where Star Cement (Cmcl) really feels at home. This isn’t a city office; it’s a site where the real work happens. It’s a bit remote, surrounded by the hills and the greenery of the district. Working out here means you have to be practical and ready for anything. The weather can change in a minute, and the roads can be tough. We spend our days managing the plant operations and making sure the cement is being produced and loaded correctly. It’s a loud, industrial environment, but there’s a rhythm to it that we all know well. Most of us live nearby or stay on-site, so it’s more than just a job; it’s where we spend most of our lives. We don't have time for a lot of polish or corporate talk because there is always a machine to check or a truck to get on its way. It’s a tough environment, but the people here are used to it. We deal with the dust and the noise every day. Our focus is simply on the production and the logistics of the Jantia Hills.
