You can find us at Dudhnath’s place in Gram Bangava Deeh, which is over in the Jagdishpur area. Bangawan Deeh Farmer Producer Company Limited was started by a few of us who have been farming these lands for generations. We realized that if we didn't start working together, the bigger markets would just keep pushing us around. So, we set this up. It’s a real grassroots thing. We don't have a big budget for anything fancy. The office is just a room where we keep our registers and meet to talk about the harvest. We deal with whatever the members are growing in the Bangava Deeh area. Sometimes it's grain, sometimes it's vegetables. The main goal is just to help each other out with getting better prices for what we grow. It’s hard to do that when you’re just one person with a small cart of produce. Together, we can organize transport and find buyers who actually pay on time. We also try to help each other with things like getting good quality seeds. There is a lot of talk and a lot of work involved. We aren't trying to change the world; we just want to make sure our families can keep farming and that the community stays strong.
