Vijay Hardware

Vijay Hardware is located at Plot No. 426 on Khoba Mandi Road. We are pretty close to the Kamaniya Gate, which is a big landmark around here. The road is always packed with trucks and trolleys because of the mandi, so there’s a lot of dust and noise all day long. Inside the shop, it’s a different world, though still quite busy. We have racks reaching all the way to the ceiling filled with different hardware items. It’s a lot of small parts, so we spend a lot of time sorting through bins and making sure everything is in the right place. Sometimes we lose track of time when we’re helping someone find a very specific screw or tool. The shop isn’t very big, so we have to be clever about how we stack things. There’s usually a bit of grease on the counters and the floor is worn down from all the boots walking in and out. We’ve been at this location for a good while now. The Kamaniya Gate area has its own rhythm, and we’ve become a small part of it. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and lifting heavy boxes, but that’s the nature of the hardware business. We don't have a big marketing plan; we just open the doors and see who needs help today. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon is quite a lot, so the ceiling fan stays on high.
