Sonalpandey

I’m based at number 270 in Anand Nagar, which is over in the Adhartal area of Jabalpur. It’s a regular house in a regular neighborhood here in Madhya Pradesh. I’ve lived and worked in this area for a good long time, so I know most of the people on this street. The house is easy enough to spot, though the numbers on the street don't always follow a logical order. My workspace is just a front room that I’ve cleared out to make space for my desk and some shelves. It gets quite dusty during the dry season, so I’m always wiping down my papers and the computer screen. Adhartal is a busy part of town, but my specific lane is usually quiet enough to get things done without too much distraction. I don't really bother with big meetings or anything like that. People who need me usually just come by or send a message. The postman knows the address well, so I never have trouble getting my mail. Sometimes the neighborhood kids play cricket right outside the window, and I have to watch out for stray balls hitting the glass. It’s a very local way of living and working, but I prefer it over being in a tall office building in the city center. It feels more like home this way, even when I'm busy. I usually stay up late to finish my work when the house is finally quiet and the birds stop chirping.
