The office is actually inside House Number 390 over here at Garha Phatak. It’s funny because we’re the Sambalpur branch but the paperwork happens right here in Jabalpur. Being near Jagdish Mandir means it gets quite loud during the festivals. You can hear the bells and the people outside while we’re trying to sort out the steel logistics. Ashish Chaurasia runs things from this spot near Aaga Chawk. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze with all the files and the computer on the desk. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to chat because it looks like any other house on the street. We don’t have a big sign or anything like that outside. The stairs are a bit narrow and the lighting inside could be better. We get a lot of mail for Orissa but we handle it from here in MP. It’s a weird setup if you think about it too much. Usually, the morning is spent checking the ledgers and seeing what needs to be moved. The traffic on the road outside never really stops. If you look out the window, you see the daily life of Jabalpur passing by. It’s a practical way to run things without needing a big glass building. We just do the work, drink our chai, and keep things moving for the steel plant.
