Bhanu Rice Land

Bhanu Rice Land is located right behind the New Grain Market in Indri. If you know the area, it’s easy to find because we are surrounded by the sights and smells of the grain trade. We spend most of our time dealing with the local harvest. There’s always dust in the air and the sound of heavy bags being moved around on wooden pallets. It’s a simple operation really. We have some machines that run most of the day and a few guys who have been working the floors here for years. They know exactly how the rice should look and feel. The office is just a small room where we keep the ledgers and drink tea when there is a break in the action. We don't have a big marketing department or a fancy website. Most people just walk in or call us because they know we are here behind the market. It gets very busy during the peak seasons, and sometimes we are working late into the evening just to keep up with the arrivals from the fields. The trucks line up outside and the drivers chat while they wait their turn. It’s a bit chaotic at times, but we manage to get through the piles of work. We’ve seen the market change over the years, but our spot stays pretty much the same. It’s just honest work with good people who know their way around a grain sack.
