M.K.Baig Municipal High School

This is a municipal school situated in East Chandmari, specifically in the Kunjaban area of West Tripura. Being a municipal high school means we serve a lot of the families living right here in the neighborhood. The building is a sturdy government structure with wide corridors and high ceilings. It’s been here for a long time, and you can tell by the way the floor tiles are smoothed out from decades of use. We have a lot of students coming in every day, so the place is rarely quiet. The noise of lessons being recited often echoes through the halls. We have large windows that look out towards the local streets, and sometimes you can see the daily life of Kunjaban going on while we're inside. Our facilities are basic but functional. We have a playground area that gets used heavily during the lunch break, and it’s usually quite a sight to see hundreds of kids out there at once. The staff room is always cluttered with stacks of notebooks and registers that need grading. We don’t have any fancy bells or whistles here; it’s just about getting the students through their curriculum so they can pass their exams. The local tea stall across the road is where many of us go for a quick break when the students are busy. It’s a busy, noisy, and hardworking environment that reflects the community around us without any pretension.
