We are located in East Chandmari in Agartala. It’s a neighborhood that’s seen a lot of change, but our school has stayed pretty much the same over the years. We’re tucked away in a spot that’s easy enough for local families to reach. The school building is a few stories high, and the paint is a bit faded from the sun and the rain we get here in Tripura. Every morning, the street outside gets crowded with rickshaws and parents on motorbikes. Inside, the classrooms are filled with the usual sounds of shuffling feet and the scraping of chairs. We have a small courtyard area where students spend their breaks. It’s not huge, but it’s enough for them to stretch their legs and talk. We have some potted plants near the entrance that we try to keep alive, though the kids sometimes knock them over when they’re in a rush. The air in Agartala can be quite thick and hot, so the ceiling fans are almost always going. We don’t have much in the way of high-tech equipment; it’s mostly just the basics like blackboards and wooden benches. We know most of the families around here by name, and it’s common to see former students stopping by to say hello. It’s a regular neighborhood school, doing its thing day after day without any big surprises.
