Tiwari Kirana Store

Tiwari Kirana Store is located at shop 695 in Nehru Nagar, Indore. We are right by the Committee Hall in the LIG Colony. Being so close to the hall means we see a lot of different people every day, especially when there is a meeting or some kind of gathering going on. The shop itself is a bit small, and we have bags of sugar and flour stacked up against the walls. Indore is a place where people really care about their food, so I have to make sure the spices and pulses are always fresh. My hands are usually a bit white from handling the flour sacks all morning. The floor is made of simple cement and it shows the wear and tear of many years. I don't use a computer or any fancy machines, just a small scale for weighing and a notebook to keep track of things. Sometimes the local kids come in after school to buy small snacks or candies. I know most of the families in the colony, and they know me. It is a quiet kind of life, opening the shutters in the morning and closing them once the street lights come on. The shop has a bit of a smell of mixed spices and laundry soap, which isn't bad. It is just a practical neighborhood store that provides what people need for their homes without any extra fuss or noise.
