Shop N Save

This shop sits right on the main road near the Keshar Bagh Bridge in Indore. It stays pretty busy because of the location. We have been in Scheme No 103 for quite a while now. The building, A/27, is easy enough to find if you are coming across the bridge. It isn't a huge place but we try to fit as much as we can on the shelves. You will see rows of snacks, household cleaners, and those big plastic jars of candies that kids like. The floor gets a bit dirty during the monsoon because people walk in with wet shoes, but we try to sweep it when there is a quiet moment. I spend a lot of time checking the expiry dates on the milk and bread every morning. Dealing with the distributors takes up a lot of my time in the afternoons when they bring the new stock in. Sometimes the delivery truck blocks the entrance and we have to move things quickly. It’s a lot of lifting and carrying boxes. There is no air conditioning, just a couple of wall fans that make a clicking sound. We usually know most of the people who live nearby because they come in every few days for their sugar or oil. It is just a typical shop where you get what you need and maybe chat for a minute before the next person in line pushes forward.
