Seven To Eleven

Seven To Eleven is situated at 86, Geeta Bhawan in Indore, right behind Saint Pall School. The name makes people think we have specific hours, but we just liked how it sounded when we opened. Being so close to a school means that our afternoons are always loud and busy with kids coming in to buy pens, notebooks, or sweets once their classes are over. The rest of the day is a bit more relaxed, with people from the Geeta Bhawan area stopping by for their household needs. We have a lot of plastic jars filled with different candies on the front counter, which is the first thing everyone sees. The shop is not very large, so we have to be clever about where we put everything, from washing powder to loaves of bread. Indore can get quite dusty, so we are constantly wiping down the glass cases. There is a tea stall nearby, and sometimes the smell of ginger tea drifts inside while we are working. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the parents waiting for their children or the neighbors who have lived here as long as we have. It is a simple life, mostly consisting of checking expiry dates and making sure the crates of soda are cold enough. We just try to keep things running smoothly and stay on top of the daily chores.
