Porwal Departmental Stores

Our store is in the Saraswati Apartment building on Tilak Nagar Main Road. It’s a nice area in Indore, and being near the Durga Mandira means we get a lot of foot traffic during festivals. Porwal Departmental Stores is a place where we try to keep a bit of everything. From snacks for the kids to detergents and pulses for the kitchen. We have been here at number 210 for some time now. The store is usually full of stuff, maybe a bit too full sometimes, but we like having options for the customers. I usually start the day by checking the milk delivery and making sure the bread is fresh. My wife helps out in the afternoons when the local ladies come by to do their shopping after finishing their chores. We know most of the families in Tilak Nagar by their first names. It’s more than just a business; it’s where we spend most of our lives. The summers in Indore can be really dusty, so cleaning the shelves is a never-ending job. We don’t use any complicated systems, just a simple way of keeping track of things. We aren't looking to expand or become a huge chain. We just like being the local shop where you can get your groceries and maybe hear a bit of neighborhood news. It’s a simple, busy life and we’re quite content with it.
