Pooja General Store

Running Pooja General Store keeps us busy throughout the week. We are located right in Nanak Palace on Bhola Ram Ustad Marg, which is a fairly active part of Pipliya Rao. If you are looking for the Axis Bank ATM, you will see us standing nearby. Indore is a fast city but this neighborhood has its own pace. We spend most of our morning sorting through boxes and putting things on the shelves so people can find what they want quickly. It is not a very big shop but we try to keep a bit of everything that a household might need. Some days are slower than others, especially when it rains hard or the heat is too much for people to come out. We see the same faces every day, mostly students and families living in the 452014 pin code area. We don't really do much advertising or anything because word of mouth usually works fine for a place like ours. The street outside is always full of bikes and the sound of the city. We just sit here, talk to the regulars, and keep the store running. It is a simple job but it is what we do. Sometimes the power goes out but we just wait it out. Having a shop near the palace means there is always something happening around us. We just keep our heads down and work. That is basically how we spend our days in Indore.
