It is a busy street with a lot of traffic and people walking by all the time. Our store is just one of many, but we have our regular folks who come to us for their kitchen needs. We have bags of flour, jars of spices, and all those small things you forget to buy until you run out. Indore is a fast city, but in Malharganj, things feel a bit more traditional. We open up the shop early and set out some of the items on the front ledge so people can see them. The shop isn't very modern. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the wooden counters are a bit worn down from years of use. But it is a sturdy place. We spend our days weighing out pulses and packing them into small plastic bags. It is a lot of repetitive work, but we don't mind it. 11, City Centre Road is where we spend most of our lives. We know the sounds of the city outside by heart. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in Indore, just a reliable one for the people living nearby. That is enough for us.
