Nutan Watch Co. has been over here on Jail Road for quite some time now. We are right in the Nagar Nigam Doller Market area. It is a busy part of town with a lot of shops squeezed together. Our place is at 1/1, and it is usually filled with the sound of ticking. We have all kinds of watches on display, from the ones you wear every day to some slightly nicer ones. A lot of our work involves fixing things, like changing batteries or fixing a strap that came loose. It takes a steady hand and some small tools. Sometimes a customer brings in an old clock that hasn't worked in years, and we see what we can do. We started this shop because we like working with mechanical things. It's a lot of tiny parts to keep track of. The market is always loud, but inside the shop, it stays a bit more quiet. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here. It’s a tight-knit spot. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It's just us behind the counter. We’ve seen the market change over the years, but we’re still here in the same corner. People come in to get their watches timed or just to see what’s new in the cases. It’s a simple way to make a living. We keep the shop open six days a week. It can be tiring, but it’s good to be part of the local street life on Jail Road.
