Working out here at No. 44/46 in the Industrial Estate of Kila Maidan keeps everyone on their toes. Being so close to Tata Steel means there is always something going on nearby, and the sound of trucks and heavy machinery is basically our background music all day long. At D & H Secheron Electrodes Private Limited, we deal with a lot of heavy stuff and technical gear, so things get a bit dusty and loud on the floor. It’s the kind of place where you definitely don't wear your nice clothes because something will probably get a smudge on it within the first hour. Most of the staff has been around for a long time, so we all know the quirks of the building and which machines need a little extra patience. Lunch breaks are usually spent chatting about local news or just trying to find a quiet corner away from the heat of the industrial fans. It is an honest day’s work and there isn't much room for being fancy when you are surrounded by metal and welding supplies. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit backed up and the aisles feel a little narrow, but we manage to find what we need eventually. The location is practical for what we do, even if the roads around here get a bit rough during the monsoon season. We just keep the gates open and stay busy with whatever order is next on the clipboard.
