Mrinal Nuts Processing Private Limited

Our workshop is at 59 Tilak Nagar Extension in Indore. We spend most of our daylight hours processing nuts. It’s a lot of physical work. We sit on small stools and sort through piles of cashews or almonds. We look for the ones that are cracked or not the right color. The floors are hard concrete and our knees usually ache by the end of the shift. Mrinal Nuts Processing Private Limited has these big metal roasting pans that get very hot. You have to be careful when you’re moving them. The whole neighborhood can smell when we are roasting. We pack the finished nuts into clear plastic bags and seal them with a hand sealer. It makes a little clicking sound every time. We have stacks of gunny bags in the corner that reach the ceiling. Tilak Nagar is a busy area, so there’s always noise coming from the street. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that wobble. We talk about our families and the news while we work. It’s a tight-knit group here. We’ve been at this address for a while now. We keep the books in a drawer and use a basic calculator for the math. It’s just a regular nuts business, nothing more, nothing less. We spend a lot of time sweeping up shells from the corners. It is a simple life but it keeps us busy.
