You can find us at Shop No 10-11 in the Shekhar Regency building, which is part of Scheme No 54 in Vijay Nagar. We are right opposite the Fortune Landmark hotel, so it is a pretty easy landmark for people who are new to Indore. Running Mansi Beauty Academy & Salon keeps me on my toes from morning until late at night. One side of the shop is where we do the regular salon work like haircuts and bridal makeup, and the other part is for the academy. We have a lot of young people coming in to learn how to become beauticians. It is a noisy, happy place most of the time. Vijay Nagar is always bustling with traffic and people, so there is never a dull moment outside our window. We started out with just a couple of chairs and now we have a bit more space, but it still feels like a small family business. Some days the water pressure acts up or the electricity flickers, but we just manage it and keep going. We don’t go in for all that corporate talk or fancy advertisements. People around here know us because we have been in this spot for a long time. It is a lot of hard work balancing the teaching and the service, but the girls who graduate from here make us proud. It is just a local business trying to do things right.
