If you head down towards M. R. 9, you’ll find us right near Barfani Dham in Malviya Nagar. It’s a dusty place, but that is the nature of the building material trade. We have stacks of cement bags and piles of bricks that come and go throughout the week. Rampal Agrawal started this because people in the neighborhood needed a reliable spot to get their supplies without traveling too far across the city. The yard is usually busy with trucks pulling in and out at odd hours. We spend a lot of time on our feet, checking the inventory and talking to contractors who need things in a hurry. The sun can get pretty hot out here in Malviya Nagar, but we have a small office area where we sit down to do the accounts and take a break. It is a family-run sort of feel, even when things get hectic. We know the regulars by name and they know where to find us. Sometimes the rain makes things a bit messy in the yard, but we just cover everything up and wait it out. It isn't a glamorous job, dealing with sand and stone all day, but it is honest work. We’ve seen many houses in this area go up using the materials that sat in our yard first. It feels good to see the neighborhood grow around us. We just keep moving forward one truckload at a time.
