Maheshwari Kirana Store

Up here in Indore, our shop is situated in Malviya Nagar, specifically on the MR 9 Road in the Vijay Nagar area. Maheshwari Kirana Store is a fairly easy place to find because we are quite near the BSNL office, which everyone knows. The road outside is wide but it stays busy with cars and bikes all day long. We have a good amount of space inside, but we still manage to fill every corner with bags of pulses, grains, and household supplies. It’s a typical kirana store where the smell of spices is always in the air. We spend a lot of time weighing things out on the digital scale and tying up plastic bags with twine. The afternoon is usually our quiet time, so that is when we do the cleaning and check what needs to be ordered for the next week. Many of the customers work at the nearby offices or live in the apartments around here. They come in for their monthly groceries or just a quick bottle of cold water when the Indore sun is too much. We try to keep everything in its right place, but sometimes the delivery boxes get piled up near the entrance. It is just a regular job, opening up the shutters in the morning and seeing the same faces every day. We don't have any flashy advertisements, just the items on the shelves and the daily work of helping the neighbors with their shopping. It is a simple way to spend the day.
