Maa Durga General Store

It is quite busy here in Niranjanpur, especially being right near the wine shop at Khalsa Square. We started Maa Durga General Store because this part of Scheme No. 114 needed a place where you could just grab what you need without a big fuss. The shop isn't huge, but we try to keep the shelves full of the usual things people ask for daily like soap, biscuits, and matches. Some days the traffic outside is loud and it gets dusty, but that is just how things are in Vijay Nagar. We open early because people heading to work usually need something last minute. I spend most of my day sitting behind the counter or moving boxes around when the stock arrives. It’s a lot of manual work and sometimes my back hurts by the evening. The fans in here don’t always keep the Indore heat away, but we manage. Most of the people who come in are neighbors we have known for years. They come in for a loaf of bread and end up talking about the weather or the price of onions. We don't have any fancy displays or anything. It's just a regular shop where things are where they are. If you can't find something, you just have to ask. We live nearby so this is basically our second home. It's just a simple life running a store in this corner of the city.
