Khare General Stores

We are located in Musakhedi, right near the Hanuman Mandir. You can hear the bells from the temple throughout the day, which is a nice background noise while working. The shop is on the Main Road, so it gets quite busy with people passing through. I usually sit near the entrance where the breeze comes in. We’ve got shelves stacked high with laundry powder, cooking oil, and jars of local sweets. Some of the jars are a bit old and the lids are tricky to open, but they do the job. My family has been around this part of Indore for a long time. It gets really dusty outside, so I’m constantly wiping down the counter with a yellow rag. There isn't much space to walk around inside if more than three people come in at once. We usually just hand things over the counter to them. Sometimes we run out of change, and I have to ask the neighbor shop for some coins. It’s a simple life, just stocking the shelves and talking to the regulars about the weather or the price of onions. The electricity goes out sometimes in the afternoon, so we keep a torch handy. It’s not a fancy setup, just a regular store for the people living nearby. We try to keep things organized, but sometimes boxes end up piled in the corner when a new delivery arrives at the door. It is just the way we do things.
