Jay Ice Cream

Jay Ice Cream is located at 27, Prabhu Nagar, right on the Annapurna Main Road. Being on the main road means we see a lot of traffic passing by all day long. It can get pretty noisy with the horns and the buses, but it keeps things interesting for us. We’ve been here at this spot for some time now, just serving whoever walks through the door. It’s a straightforward shop with some benches for people to sit on while they eat their ice cream. We don’t do much advertising or anything like that because most people just know we are here. The neighborhood has changed a lot since we started, but we’re still in the same building. We open up in the morning and stay late enough for the after-dinner crowd to get their fix. Sometimes the fridge acts up or we run out of a certain flavor, and we just deal with it as it comes. It's a small family-run thing, so there’s usually one of us behind the counter at all times. We know a lot of the regulars by name and what they usually order before they even say it. It’s not a fancy place with bright lights or loud music, just a regular ice cream shop on a busy road. We just focus on keeping the place clean and the ice cream frozen. That’s about all there is to it really. We are happy just being part of the daily routine here.
