Baskin Robbins

Our shop is up on the 3rd floor of Treasure Island Mall on MG Road in Indore. It’s a busy place, especially on the weekends when everyone in the city seems to show up at the mall at once. We spend a lot of time wiping down the glass counters because kids are always leaning against them to see the tubs of ice cream. The freezers hum all day long to keep everything frozen, and we have to check the temperature every few hours. It’s a small space, really just the counter and a few tables for people to sit at. We keep the spoons in a little container and the napkins are always running out. The mall lighting is very bright, and the music from the other shops spills over into our area. I usually start the shift by checking which flavors are running low. Sometimes the delivery truck gets stuck in the MG Road traffic, so we have to wait a bit for the new tubs to arrive. Most people come in after they’ve finished their shopping or seen a movie downstairs. It’s just us scooping ice cream and ringing up the bills. The floor gets sticky if we don't mop it regularly, so that’s a constant job. It’s a loud, busy environment but we’ve gotten used to the pace over the months. We’ve been here in 452001 for quite some time now.
