Jai Ambe Kirana Store

You can find us at Shop Number 4, located in Greater Vaishali Nagar. We are right on the Suryadev Nagar Main Road, which gets quite a bit of foot traffic throughout the day. This is a basic kirana store where we handle the usual grocery items people need for their kitchens. We have large open sacks of grains and pulses sitting near the entrance so people can see the quality before they buy. The smell of spices is always pretty strong inside the shop. We spend most of the day measuring out portions on the electronic scale and pouring them into plastic bags. It’s an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it works for the families in Indore who live around here. The shop is part of a larger building at number 34, and we have a small storage area in the back that stays pretty dark. We don't have fancy displays or bright lights, just some tube lights and rows of metal racks. Sometimes we run out of things like certain brands of cooking oil, and we have to tell people to come back the next day. It is just me and one other person helping out. We keep a diary for the regular customers who pay at the end of the month. It's a simple life running a shop on this busy road. We just keep our heads down and serve whoever comes to the counter with a list.
