Gunjan General Store

Gunjan General Store is right here on the Main Road in Chitra Nagar, very close to the BSNL office in Vijay Nagar. It is just a regular place where we spend most of our day. We open up pretty early in the morning, usually when the sun is just coming up over the buildings in Indore. The first thing we do is clean the front area because the dust from the road never stops. We have all the usual things people need at home, like different types of dal, rice, and cooking oil. There are stacks of biscuits and snacks on the side shelves for the kids who stop by on their way to school. The BSNL office employees come over often during their lunch breaks to get cold drinks or maybe some small items they forgot to buy. It gets quite busy in the evenings when everyone is returning from work and they realize they are out of salt or sugar. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. The shelves are a bit crowded and sometimes it takes a minute to find a specific brand of soap if it is tucked in the back. Life here is just about keeping things stocked and talking to the neighbors. Sometimes the fan makes a bit of noise, but it keeps the heat away while we wait for the next person to walk in. We just try to keep what people in Chitra Nagar actually use every day.
