Garvita General Store

Garvita General Store is at Hanumaan Chowk in the L I G Colony area of Indore. We’ve been at 183, Sector-I for quite some time now. Usually, the mornings start early with milk deliveries and bread crates being stacked outside. It gets a bit crowded around ten when everyone realizes they forgot something for their kitchen. Our shop isn't very large, but we try to keep most of the basic groceries people look for daily. Sometimes the fans make a bit of noise, and the floor gets dusty because of the road construction nearby. People from the colony come in, mostly asking for tea leaves or maybe some soap. We spend a lot of time checking the expiry dates on biscuit packets and rearranging the candy jars near the counter so kids can reach them easily. It’s just a regular spot where neighbors meet and talk about the weather or the traffic while waiting for their change. The shelves are packed with everything from pulses to plastic buckets. Every evening, we tidy up the vegetable section and count the remaining stock. It’s a lot of manual work, honestly. We don't have a fancy computer system; we just write things down in a notebook when the day ends. Hanumaan Chowk is always noisy with scooters honking, so we’ve gotten used to shouting a bit over the counter just to be heard. It is what it is, just a simple store trying to keep the essentials ready for whoever walks in from the street.
