Centre For Fine Arts : College Of Design & Technology

Our place, the Centre For Fine Arts, is at 10-11 Yn Road in Indore. We are in Starlit Sq, right across from Gsits Engineering College. It’s a busy part of town. This is a college for design and technology, but it doesn't look like a corporate office. It’s more of a working space. There are always pieces of wood, metal, or paper lying around. The floors are stained with ink and paint because people are actually making things here. We have some computers for the technology side of things, but they are often surrounded by coffee mugs and sketchbooks. The air usually smells a bit like glue or turpentine. It’s not a very polished environment, but it’s where the work happens. Yn Road is always full of students from the engineering college across the way, so the area has a lot of energy. Our building is a bit older, and the elevator can be a little slow sometimes. We have instructors who spend most of their time looking over students' shoulders and pointing out how to fix a drawing or a model. We don't have big formal ceremonies. It’s more about the projects. Sometimes we stay late to finish something, and the place gets a bit messy. We don't mind. It’s just a place for people who like to build and design stuff. We don't try to hide the mess or the hard work. It's just a practical school for arts.
