Anamika General Store

We set up shop at 12 Sneh Nagar, right on the Sapna Sangeeta Road in Indore. It’s a well-known area, especially being close to Navlakha. I’ve been working here for years, and the shop has become a part of my daily life. It’s a general store, so we try to keep a bit of everything on the shelves. You’ll find rows of snacks, toiletries, and small things for the kitchen. The Sapna Sangeeta Road is always busy with traffic and shoppers, so it never feels lonely here. I usually spend my time restocking the shelves or checking the dates on the milk and bread. The store is not very large, but we make use of every inch of space we have. Neighbors from Sneh Nagar come in mostly in the mornings to get their supplies for the day. We have a small television in the corner that’s usually on the news or a cricket match. It helps pass the time when the shop is quiet. I don’t believe in having a polished corporate look; this is just a real shop for real people. Sometimes the delivery guys leave boxes in the middle of the floor and I have to move them around. It’s just the way things go when you’re running a small business. We stay open late into the evening because that’s when the neighborhood really comes alive and people need things.
