Aishwariya Fashions

Our shop is tucked away at No. 1 / B in Radha Nagar Colony. It’s a bit quieter here than the main roads, which I actually like. We started Aishwariya Fashions because we wanted something of our own to run. Most of our day is spent at the cutting table or looking over new designs that come in. It isn't a massive operation, just a few of us working together. Sometimes the neighbors pop in just to say hello or ask what we are working on today. The room gets a lot of sun in the afternoon so we have to pull the curtains to keep the heat out. We have racks lined up against the walls and sometimes it’s hard to move around when we have a big order. It feels more like a home than a shop sometimes. We don't use any fancy systems to track things. We just use a big notebook and our memory. The floor is concrete and we have a small desk near the entrance. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a break. It's not a complicated life. We just make sure the clothes are handled properly and packed up. Working in a colony like this means we have to be mindful of the noise, but everyone is friendly. It’s a good spot for us to stay busy and do what we know how to do. We usually close up when it gets dark and walk home.
