M G H.S.School is located right in Sagolband Thingom Leikai. If you know this part of Imphal, you know it is a busy residential area. Our school has been part of the streetscape here for quite some time. We have students coming in from all over the 795004 zip code and even further out sometimes. The mornings are usually a bit of a scramble with uniforms and bags everywhere as the students walk through the gates. It’s a higher secondary school, so we deal with older kids who are getting ready for their big exams. The building has seen many years, and you can tell by the floors and the desks, but it serves its purpose. We have a few staff members who have lived in Imphal their whole lives. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles here. It is just classrooms, a small playground area, and the usual school noise. During the breaks, the noise from Sagolband Thingom Leikai blends in with the sounds of the students. We try to keep things organized, though it gets a bit messy during the monsoon when the rain hits the roof. People around here know the school well. We just focus on getting through the syllabus and making sure the kids show up on time. It is a straightforward place with a lot of history in these walls.
