Imphal Walks

Imphal Walks is based right in the middle of Imphal Bazar. This is where we live and work every day. The bazar is the best place to see the real life of the city, so it made sense for us to be here. We are not a big tour company with buses and matching uniforms. It is just a few of us who know the streets and the history of the neighborhood. We spend a lot of time walking around ourselves, so we know every corner. Our office is a small space where we meet up and plan things out. It is often a bit messy with notes and old maps lying around. We do not have a corporate structure or a big boss. We just like showing people the parts of Imphal that they might miss if they were just driving through. The bazar is always changing, with new stalls popping up and old ones moving. It is a lively place to be located. Sometimes we just sit outside and watch the world go by. We do not use fancy language to describe what we do. We just take people on walks and talk about what we see. It is very informal. If you come to the bazar, you will see the chaos and the colors for yourself. We are just part of that scene. Most of the people we help are travelers who want to see something authentic. We just give them a local perspective because this is our home.
